Mrs. Clara Mehmken

Mrs. Clara D. Mehmken, 92, 1306 Oak, died at 6:40 a.m. Friday, March 10 (1972), at the St. Francis Continuation Care & Nursing Home in Burlington.

She was born Oct. 12, 1879, in Des Moines county the daughter of William and Louisa Rasche Schroeder. She married George A. Mehmken in Des Moines county Oct. 15, 1902. He died in 1929. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ.

Surviving: Two daughters, Mrs. Florence Boden Burlington, with whom she made her home, and Mrs. Edith F. Platte, Keokuk Rt. 2; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Ada Wallentine, Burlington.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Prugh's chapel, Rev. Donald V. Klohr; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial for Mrs. Mehmken has been established at First United Church of Christ.
