Clarabelle Walker

Clarabelle "Clara" Walker, 81, of Burlington died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born Dec. 21, 1926, in Jefferson City, Mo., she was the daughter of James W. and Elsie Pearl Johnson Nichols. On March 14, 1947, she married Lee Walker in Burlington.

Mrs. Walker was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Linda Kaufman of Sperry, Sheila Long and Connie Long both of Burlington and Karen McKelvey of Pinedale, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Walker will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Randall Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery, rural Mediapolis.

A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army.
