Minnie Baltisberger

Minnie E. Baltisberger, age 92 of Clarence, passed away on Sunday September 25, 2016 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 1, 2016 at 3:00 P.M at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence with Pastor Tommi Boeder officiating. Burial will follow at the Clarence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M until service time at the church.

Minnie was born on November 21, 1923 to Charles Sr. and Henrietta (Story) Eggert in Cedar Rapids. She married Orlo Baltisberger on June 14, 1944 in Clarence. He died in 1985.

Minnie was a member of St. John's UCC and was also a member of the Clarence Legion Auxiliary for 70 years. She ran the B&K Store for 40 years with her husband and also worked as a cook at the high school in Clarence. Minnie enjoyed company and talking to people.

She is survived by her sons, James (Patricia) of Burlington, IA and Ronald (Patricia) of Cambridge, IL; daughters, Marilyn Baird of Anamosa, Wendy Baltisberger of Watkins, IA and Susan (Tim) Blood of The Colony, TX; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Ralph, Charles Jr. and one in infancy; sister, Nellie Koth; and husband, Orlo.
