Mrs. Metzger Dead

Mrs. Margaretha Metzger, one of Burlington's older inhabitants, passed away yesterday afternoon, after a long illness. Margaretha Goetz was born in Germany January 18, 1836. She came to Burlington in the early days and had lived here the greater part of her life. The husband died years ago. She is survived by three children: Adolph Metzger and Mrs. Louisa Reusch, of this city and Mrs. Rosetta Steinmann of Chicago and ten grandchildren, one brother, Adam Goetz of Monmouth, Ill.;; and one sister, Mrs. Louisa Almendinger, of this city. Mrs. Metzgger was a good woman, who will be missed and mourned by all who knew her. The funeral will be from her late residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
