Ella Elizabeth Johansmeier, 74, of Burlington, died at 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born September 4, 1924, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Albert Fred and Nellie Almeda (Nelson) Scheihing. On July 23, 1942, she married Elmer Charles Johansmeier in Clinton, Missouri.

Mrs. Johansmeier was a 1942 graduate of Wapello High School and a lunchroom food service worker for Burlington Community School District for 10 years, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer, of the home, two sons, Bill Johansmeier of Burlington, and Ray Johansmeier of Pass Christian, Mississippi; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harry Scheihing of West Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sons Ronald and Donald Johansmeier and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be after noon today in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Johansmeier will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with the Reverends Forrest and Sue Krummel officiating. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery, Wapello.

A memorial for First Presbyterian Church has been established.
