Ralph N. Scheihing, 74, of rural Wapello, died Thursday, August 6, 1992, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born April 21, 1918, in Mediapolis, he was the son of Albert and Nellie Nelson Scheihing. On February 14, 1941, he married Mary Jane Dotson in Burlington.

He was a lifelong farmer, attended Sperry and Wapello schools, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello and served as an elder for several terms. He had been president and served many years on the Wapello School Board, was a member of the Louisa County Drainage Board and the Louisa County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ruth Stineman of Wapello and Alene Neas of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ella Johansmeier of Burlington; and one brother, Harry Scheihing of West Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; and one brother. Friends may call anytime beginning Saturday morning at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello.

The service for Mr. Scheihing will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church in Wapello with the Reverend Bill Young officiating. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for First Presbyterian Church in Wapello, the Wapello Rescue Unit and the Wapello Community Ambulance Service.
