Dorothy Anna "Dot" Lind, 94, of Burlington, Iowa, died at Burlington Care Center, Burlington, Iowa, on Saturday morning, July 13, 2013.

Born on February 3, 1919 in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harry J. and Naomi Spiegel Gustafson. She married Donald Lind on September 28, 1940. He died in 1982.

Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked at Schramm's for five years where she excelled as a seamstress. She often spoke of the music that always was in their home as a child, singing and dancing around the piano. As a child, Dorothy loved animals and would bring stray pups home. Her mother would question her about the pups appearing at their home and Dorothy would tell her that they just followed her home. As a homemaker she took pride in the way she cared for her home. She even refinished the majority of the furniture they owned. She loved to dance and enjoyed the Jazz Club, Civic Music and the Eagles Club. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends of the family. She was preceded in death by her husband, "Bud"; her parents; two brothers, Robert Paul "Bobby" Gustafson and Howard "Bart" Gustafson, also known as Bart Howard.
