Leo Francis Stodt, 92, of West Burlington died at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born August 21, 1912, in West Burlington, he was the son of Frank John and Elsie Magdalena Schultke Stodt. On February 7, 1948, he married Mary Ellen Regina Seipel in Dunlap, Illinois. She died February 15, 1984.

Mr. Stodt worked as a stationary fireman, boiler operator and shift engineer at Iowa Ordnance Plant in Middletown.

He attended SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church and served in the Navy. He was a member of Brunswick League bowling, winning many first place trophies, the Farm Bureau and Burlington Coin Club. He was a past member of Hammond Organ Club.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Wayne of Denver, Colorado, and John Allan of Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Francine Chloe of Davenport; two sisters, Crystal Stoykovich of Los Banos, California, and Mary Berniece McCoy of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Prugh's Chapel. An Ecumenical Christian prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening in SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, following which the family will receive friends until 9:00 p.m.

The funeral for Mr. Stodt will be at noon Monday at SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Great River Home Health Care.
