Funeral Service for G. B. Burgus This Afternoon

Funeral services for Gustav B. Burgus, who passed away at his home two miles east of Sperry, Thursday at 5 o'clock, will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, near Kingston. Short services will be conducted from the home at 2 o'clock. Mr. Burgus was born in Des Moines county near Kingston in 1861 and was married to Emma Marie Wiegard in 1884, who survives with the following children: Henry Burgus, Edward Burgus and John Burgus of Burlington, Mrs. Carl Gerlin, Mrs. Fred Buescher, Joseph Burgus and Herbert Burgus of Sperry, Mrs. Samuel Shafer of Fairfield, Mrs. William Knott and Amelia Burgus of Chicago, and Arthur and Alma Burgus at home. One daughter, Anna, preceded him in death. Eighteen grandchildren and three brothers, Fred and August; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Schuler and Mrs. John Riece; three step-brothers and two step-sisters also survive. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church and also a member of the I. O. O. F. Diamond lodge No. 326 of Sperry.
