Edward H. Burgus, 80, of 1306 North Streamwood, Vernon Hills, Illinois, died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, December 8, 1991, at Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, Illinois.

Born March 10, 1911, he was the son of Henry and Louise Dreckmeier Burgus. He married Ruth Horback April 20, 1935, in Chicago.

He attended Burlington schools and was a graduate of Carthage College and Maywood Seminary in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Fredrick, Mount Prospect, Illinois; one daughter, Marcia Ralph, Lake Forest; one brother, Martin Burgus, Sperry; two sisters, Marie Hudson, Yarmouth, and Ethel Dodge, Burlington; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The service for Mr. Burgus will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fredrichs Chapel.

A memorial has been established for Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin.
