SUCCUMBS TO STROKE OF PARALYSIS LAST EVENING

John Saftig, formerly employed a the West Burlington shops died suddenly
last evening at 10:15 o'clock at his home, 1301 Corse street. A year and a half ago he was stricken with paralysis and he had become an invalid since. Late last evening he sustained the second stroke and within twenty minutes death came to him.
Deceased was born in Burlington 53 years ago. He always resided here and was a valued member of the working force at the shops for years. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church.
Deceased is survived by the widow and nine children, John, Clara, Anna, Mamie, Theodore, Henrietta, Josephine, Laura and Frederick. The funeral will be held Saturday morning.
