John Saftig passed away late Tuesday night at his home, No. 1301 Corse street, death being due to a paralytic stroke. He was born in Burlington, February 22, 1855, and had lived in West Burlington a number of years. He was married to Mary Schneider, May 8, 1883 and is survived by the widow and nine children, six daughters and three sons. He was a good man, well liked by all who knew him. He will be carried to his last resting place from St. Paul's Catholic church, Saturday forenoon.
