Charles N. "Butch" Wardle Jr., 57, of West Burlington, has passed away.
Born in Burlington, he was the son of Charles Nathan and Mary Alverda Snyder Wardle Sr. On December 4, 1971, he married Susan L. Pepmeyer in Burlington.
Mr. Wardle worked in strip casting for 28 years at Exide and was the past president of the local 1829 at the Exide Plant for 12 years. He was also an electronic technician at the Methode Corporation for one and half years.
He was a member of West Burlington Christian Church. He was chairman of the Audit Committee at Casebine Credit Union and president of the Isaac Walton League. He had a bio–medical degree and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working and reading. He was the best grandpa in the world.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Wardle of West Burlington; one daughter, Shelly (Tom) Nicholson of Athens, Illinois; one brother, Rickey (Cindy) Wardle of Burlington; one sister, Cindy (Tim) Wardle–Callery of Wilmington, Delaware; two grandchildren, Nicole and Nickolas; one niece, Brianna Callery; three nephews, Joey Wardle, Brian and Brett Silverio; one aunt, Alta Trimble of Baltimore, Maryland; and one uncle, John Snyder of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral services were held at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor David Bellman officiating.
