Wanda Erlene Anderson Mehaffy, 74, of Danville, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Great River Hospice House, West Burlington.

Mrs. Mehaffy was born October 11, 1935 in New London, the daughter of Earl Asa and June Geneva Mathews Anderson. She attended New London Schools and graduated from Danville High School in 1954. On August 13, 1955 she married Melvin "Jack" Mehaffy in New London. He died July 5, 1988. She was a homemaker, but also worked at Sylvania, Holiday Inn, Shaeffer Pen, Home Health Care aide at Great River Medical Center. She enjoyed volunteering at the Danville Care Center, dancing and music, her family and grandchildren. She attended Senior Citizens in Burlington and collected paper weights and Coca Cola memorabilia and was an avid garage saler. She was of the Protestant faith.

Mrs. Mehaffy is survived by her children, Debbie Mehaffy of Dallas City, Kathy (Delmar) Jacob of Stronghurst, Bob (Paula) Mehaffy of New London, Dwayne Mehaffy of Danville, Bradley (Kayleen) Mehaffy of Danville, Brian J. (Lynn) Mehaffy of Danville, Kevin T. Mehaffy of West Point, and Alan B. Mehaffy of Danville; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother Dale Anderson of Ft. Madison and one sister, Mazie Engelhart of Robinsdale, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Aileen Boecker and Goldie McGregor, and three great-grandsons.

Interment will be in Long Creek Cemetery. Pastor Larry Allen will officiate.
