Frank Barnhart Wirt, 82, of 3013 Market, was stricken and pronounced dead on arrival at Burlington Medical Center Saturday, May 9.

He was born in Des Moines County May 23, 1898, to Henry and Carrie Barnhart Wirt. He married Jessie Kneedy in Burlington March 31, 1922.

Mr. Wirt retired after 20 years with J. I. Case Company. He was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving: his wife; four daughters, Twyla Wirt, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Leona Mae Colley, Mrs. Violet Darlene Cook and Mrs. Carrie Sally Springsteen, all of Burlington; a brother, Jim, Des Moines County; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Snicker, New London, and Mrs. Pearl Campbell, Burlington Route 5; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Prugh's Chapel, the Reverend Charles O. Johnson; Memorial Park Cemetery.
