Mrs. Hazel Claudia Thompson, 77, died at her home here Saturday. She was the daughter of George W. and Anna Duryea Wyerman, and was born at Sperry, July 8, 1886. She was married October 16, 1910, to Ivan Swafford, who died December 12, 1918. Later, June 22, 1933, she married Edwin Thompson at Unionville, Missouri. She spent her life in the Morning Sun community.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Paul Swafford Fairfield, and Robert L. Swafford, Bloomfield; three step children, Mrs. Marjorie Crawford, Lawrence Thompson and Mrs. Martha Jane Walsh, all of Burlington; seven sisters, Mrs. Gladys Kerr, Morning Sun Mrs. Frances Brown, Morning Sun; Mrs. Harriet Keller, Wapello; Mrs. Jessie Stewart, Burlington; Mrs. Nellie Wolverton Davenport; Mrs. Bernice Brown, Muscatine; Mrs. Marguerite Walker, Colorado Springs, Colorado, nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and many niece and nephews.

Services will be conducted by the Reverend A. V. Weigel at the Methodist church here Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery here. The body is at the Pierce funeral home.
