James Hartman Accident Victim
A tractor accident Saturday afternoon (June 4, 1955) took the life of James Hartman, 35, of Lexington, Illinois. An employee of a construction company, Hartman was instantly killed in a mishap which took place while he was helping to unload a bulldozer.
He was the son of Cecil and Laura Gregory Hartman of Morning Sun. Born May 7, 1920, in Mediapolis, he moved with his family to Morning Sun. He was a veteran of overseas service with the army during World War II. He was married to Bernadine Grimsley of Lexington and for the past several years they lived in that Illinois town. Hartman is survived by his wife and stepson of Lexington, his parents, three brothers, Clarence, Leo and Bill, all of Morning Sun and two sisters, Mrs. Donald Strawhacker, Oakville and Mrs. JaNan Adams of Iowa City. Also surviving is the grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Gregory of Mornng Sun.
Funeral services and burial were Tuesday afternoon in Lexington.
