Judith Lee “Grams” Smith, 70, of Burlington, Iowa, died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

Born on October 9, 1944 in Macon, Missouri, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Maude Opal “Judy” Glenn Dietsch. She married Howard Ray Smith on March 2, 1963 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on January 15, 2009.

Judith was a homemaker. She also worked at Sickel’s Dry Cleaners, Jacks, Subway and Kenny’s Roller Rink. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her dog “Muffy”. She was of the Lutheran faith.

She is survived by one son, Wayne (Juanita) Smith of Burlington, Iowa; three granddaughters, Jessica (Gary) Lunsford-Lee, Tabitha Smith and Shaunna Richardson; two grandsons, Josh (Heather Wolff) Smith and Mitchell Houston; nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Zoe, Makenzie, Hunter, Colton, Jazmyn, JP, Crystina and Annabelle, all of Burlington, Iowa; one brother, Kenneth “David” (Donna) Dietsch of Goodridge, Minnesota; three sisters, Janet (Jack) Harzke of Goodridge, Minnesota, Joyce Chapman and Connie Dickey, both of West Burlington, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Helen Hendershot of Newark, Ohio; three aunts; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents, step-mother; and one nephew, Howard Harzke.

A Celebration of Life for “Grams” will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at 1916 Laurel St., Burlington, Iowa; all family, friends and neighbors are cordially invited. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Funeral Service. Interment of ashes will be at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.prughfuneralservice.com.
