Shirley Ann Hale Blint, 75, of New London, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Klein Center, West Burlington.
She was born March 11, 1939 in Burlington, the daughter of William Woodrow and Freeda Lorraine Iles Hale. On January 6, 1957, she married Dale Ronald Blint at Trinity Methodist Church in Mt. Union. He died August 6, 1999. She was a 1956 graduate of New London High School and attended the New London Christian Church.
Mrs. Blint worked for Champion Sparkplug in Burlington, Pamida and Mackay Envelope in Mt. Pleasant, Casey's in New London and also the New London Schools as a teacher's aide. For many years, she and her husband tended the campground and the concessions and beach areas in Geode State Park. She liked to read and do puzzles, and especially enjoyed her family, her grandchildren and her friends.
Mrs. Blint is survived by sons, Duane Dale (Pam) Blint of New London and Devin Gene (Traci) Blint of Danville; and daughter Darcie Ann Avila of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; and nephew Jason Wormington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Wanda Jean Wormington, and niece Stacy Remack.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 6, 2014 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor Nathan Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London. Visitation will begin after noon on Sunday, October 5 at the chapel, and the family will greet friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. A memorial has been established to Klein Center, New London Black & Gold Booster Club, and the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.
