VETERAN EXPRESS COMPANY EMPLOYE DIES LAST NIGHT

A. H. Wells, Aged 71 Years, With Adams Express Company Here 35 Years, Posses Away.

A. H. Wells, aged 71 years, and who for the past thirty-five years has been in the employ of the Adams Express company, now known us the American Railway Express company, out of Burlington, passed away at his home, 1167 South Fourth street, at 10:15 o'clock last night, after a short illness.

The deceased was born in Ohio. He came to Burlington thirty-five years ago and immediately took up his duties as a driver on an express wagon for the Adams Express company. Twelve years ago he began service as an express messenger, running out of Burlington on the Quincy branch of the C. B. & Q. railroad. His death will bring sorrow to hundreds of friends whom he had made during his long period of residence.

He was a member of the W. O. W. lodge. His wife, three sons: Floyd of Cedar Rapids, Ernest and Clarence of Burlington, and one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Adolphs, survive him.
