Obituary, the Burlington Hawk-Eye Gazette, November 3, 1954; Burlington, Iowa:

Mt. Pleasant (IA) -- Mrs. Catharine Esther Miller, 61, route 5, Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday in Burlington hospital.

She was born September 18, 1883, at Kingston, the daughter of John and Elisa Burkholder Walker. On February 25, 1922, she was married to Henry Miller at Kingston. She lived four miles southwest of Mount Pleasant for the past three years.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Yarmouth Methodist church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Bordis of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Burgus of Peoria, Illinois; three brothers, Russell and Frank of Burlington, and Virgil of Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at the Cookes-Lunning Funeral Home Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery in Burlington. Dr. E.A. Mathews will officiate.
