Kenneth R. Beames, 65, of Burlington, died at 11:06 p.m. Sunday, September 27,1998, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born November 29, 1932, in Burlington, he was the son of Raymond and Edith Helmuth Beames. On October 22, 1955, he married Helen Louise Williams in Burlington. She died January 31, 1997.

Mr. Beames worked for 47 years for Iowa Southern Utilities, where he was a gas installation foreman. He retired in 1996.

Survivors include one daughter, Kellie L. Belknap of West Burlington; one son, Jeffrey R. Beames of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and three brothers, Richard Beames and Robert Williams, both of Burlington, and Harold Williams of Gladstone, Illinois.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The graveside funeral for Mr. Beames will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Burlington Memorial Cemetery, with the Reverend Shirley Bliven officiating. A memorial has been established for South-Eastem Regional Dialysis Center.
