Funeral for Mrs. Edith Beam, 71, of 2028 Ridge Row, who died Tuesday, January 17, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Lunning Chapel, Dr. Robert V. Gildner and Reverend Frank Phifer; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial to the second floor of Klein Memorial hospital has been established at the chapel.

She was born May 23, 1906, in Des Moines county, the daughter of Herman and Mabel Stearns Helmuth. She married Raymond J. Beames March 6, 1932, in Keokuk.

She was a bookkeeper at Floors Incorporated, and was a member of the Gladstone, Illinois, United Methodist church and its WSCS.

Surviving: The husband; four sons, Harold Williams, Gladstone, and Robert Williams and Kenneth and Richard Beames, all of Burlington; sister, Ruby Beames, Burlington; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
