Raymond J. Beames, 76, of 2026 Ridge Row, died in Burlington Medical Center at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 30.

The son of Joseph and Mary Belle Perkins Beames, he was born June 1, 1902, in Des Moines county. He married Edith Helmuth March 6, 1932, in Keokuk; she died January 17,1978. He retired in 1967 as an Iowa Southern Utilities Company supervisor.

Surviving: A daughter, Juanita Pickle, New London; Six sons, Kenneth and Richard Beames and Robert Williams, all of Burlington, Harold Williams, Gladstone, Illinois, John Beames, Visalia, California, and Joseph Beames, of Missouri; sister Nell Willey, New London; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Lunning Chapel, Dr. C. Raymond Reed; Aspen Grove cemetery.
