Ferrell R. Lemon, 72, of 1811 S. Central Ave., Burlington, died Friday, September 12, 1986, at Burlington Medical Center, Burlington.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Sheagren Funeral Home, Burlington. Rev. Robert T. Dobber will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial to First United Methodist Church has been established.

Ferrell Ray Lemon was born September 14, 1914 in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of William and Rose (Reynolds) Lemon. He married Alberta Murphy in October 1936 in Burlington. She died in 1941. He then married Frances Bachman on October 4, 1942 in Clarence. He served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines.

He worked for 30 years with his father as a gardener on the E.P. Eastman estate and retired as a custodian with Mississippi Valley Savings and Loan Association, Burlington. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Des Moines County Historical Society.

Surviving are his wife, Frances; one daughter, Ann Butts of Burlington; two sons, Ronald Lemon of Burlington and Richard Lemon of New York City, NY; two brothers, Frank Lemon of Burlington and William Lemon of Quincy, IL; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
