John Charles Sabins, 56, of 1003 Cottonwood Court, died at Mercy hospital Wednesday at 7:10 a.m. followings an extended illness.
He was taken to the hospital at 1:14 a.m. by police ambulance from his home.
He was born Apr. 8, 1905, in Burlington, the son of Charles and Jane Fullerton Sabins. On Apr. 9, 1947, he married Ellen Tritt at Vancouver, Wash.
He had worked at National Research until retiring because of ill health. He was also an employee of Chittenden and Eastman for several years.
Sabins was a member of the VFW, having served in the Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, four sons...;and one daughter...;one sister Mrs. Margaret Carlson, Burlington; one brother, Nixon Sabins, Davenport; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
His parents, three children and several sisters and brothers died earlier.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Prugh's Chapel, Rev. Mr. E. William Strauser officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
