Mrs. Dorothy Ann Helmick, 68, of Fairfield died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at her home.
Born October 14, 1945 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Walter William and Lois Irene (Pugh) Warth. On September 26, 1975 she married Wayne Leroy Helmick in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1998.
Mrs. Helmick was a certified nurse's assistant for 24 years, working at Parkview in Fairfield, Pleasant Manor and Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting and baking for her grandkids.
Survivors include her five children, Tom Helmick of Batavia, Patricia Blakley of Keosauqua, Angie Helmick of Keosauqua, Jenny Jacobs of Columbus Junction and Sarah Saeger of Keosauqua; 21 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister, Frances Hesseltine of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven siblings, Marvin, Donald, Melvin, Earl, Roger, Ruby and Mary and one great grandchild, Alexzander LeRoy Haynes.
The funeral service for Mrs. Helmick will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 11th, at Lunning Chapel. The Rev. David Mixon will officiate. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
A memorial has been established.
According to Mrs. Helmick's wishes, cremation will be accorded following the funeral service and has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
