Earl Dean Young, 60, Oakville Route 1, died at home Tuesday, September 15, of what officials said were natural causes.

He was born August 1, 1931, at Oakville to Edward and Alma Ashby Young. He married Marilyn Hicks June 9, 1962, at Sherrard, Illinois.

Mr. Young for several years chaired Levee District 16 and was chairman of Oakville Homecoming Association. He was a Korean War Army veteran, a farmer, and a member of the United Methodist Church, Lions Club, American Legion and Ducks Unlimited.

Surviving: his wife; son Thomas and daughters Laura and Rebecca, all at home; and two sisters, Evelyn Williams, Gladstone, Illinois, and Delpha Blint, West Point.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, Oakville United Methodist Church, the Reverend Allen Jones; Edwards Cemetery. A memorial to the Oakville Park Development Association has been established at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello.
