MRS. LUGN DIES IN DENVER, COLO.
NEW LONDON---Mrs. Elizabeth Lugn, formerly of Yarmouth and Morning Sun, passed away at 4:20 p.m. January 20 at St. Luke's Hospital at Denver, Colorado.
Elizabeth Lavadia, daughter of Melissa (Linder) and Allen Lee, was born at Yarmouth April 15, 1881. Also at Yarmouth on March 5, 1902, she was married to Lewis Funk. During his life they lived in Morning Sun. Mr. Funk died on June 14, 1919. On December 11, 1939, at Burlington, she married Victor R. Lugn, and following their marriage they lived in Morning Sun. He passed away September 1946, and since then she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Sam Rasmus at New London. She was a member of Yarmouth Methodist church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Olinger of Blue Island, Ill.; Mrs. Vera Crocker of Denver, Colo., whom she was visiting when she became ill.; seven grandchildren and one great grandson. The following sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Laura Rasmus of New London; Mrs. Myrtle Davey of Morning Sun; Mrs. Gertrude Moore of Phillips, Neb.; Carson Lee of Des Moines; James Lee of Chicago, Ill. A daughter Ruth preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Elliot chapel in New London with the Rev. Beatty McDonald, pastor of the Mt. Union Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery northeast of New London.
