Ronald R. Boecher, 70, of Danville, died of cardiopulmonary arrest/diabetes mellitus at 8:57 a.m. Sunday, october 19, 2003, at Genesis East in Davenport, Iowa.

Born April 1,1933, in Keokuk, Iowa, he was the son of Leroy C. and Lottie Barger Boecher. On July 7, 1979, he married Nancy R. Sutcliffe in Danville.

Mr. Boecher was a water treatment operator at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 38 years.

He was of the Baptist faith. He attended industrial school. He loved fishing, playing cards, bowling, watching barges and was a sports fan, especially of the Bulls.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Ronda Boecher Hoffman of Keokuk; one son, Alan Boecher of Montrose; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Boecher of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of the service at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mr. Boecher will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Kirk Bennett officiating. Private family burial will be at a later date.

A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
