Louise Lucile Asby, 81, of Great River Medical Center's Klein Center, died at 3:45 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2003, at the Klein Center.

Born December 4, 1921, in Monmouth, Illinois, she was the daughter of Ralph Patton and Viola Elizabeth Buehl Lusk. On June 28, 1942, she married Thomas Asby in Monmouth, Illinois. He died August 16, 1995.

She worked in office management for Houghton-Mifflin Publisher in Batavia, Illinois.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Grace Cares. She played the organ, was a doll collector and crafter, ran a doll hospital and craft shop and liked to read.

Survivors include one son, Thomas E. Asby of Grinnell; one daughter Judilynn Asby of St. Louis; one grandson; one sister, Jo Anne Meyers of Burlington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 23,2003 at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Trevor Davis and Pastor Brenda Distelhorst officiating. Burial will be in Shinar Cumberland Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Grace United methodist Church and Wings of Praise.
