Mary Jane Bridges, 94, of Mediapolis, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at the Community Care of America in Mediapolis.

Born June 5, 1901, in Mediapolis, she was the daughter of F. Grant and Minnie Walker Bridges.

A 1920 graduate of Mediapolis High School, she had been an operator for Mediapolis Telephone Company for 22 years and had worked at the Mediapolis Library for 18 years.

She was a member of Kings Daughters, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, Mediapolis First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include several cousins including Marion "Kie" Harmon and Kay Wilson, both of Mediapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant twin sisters and a brother.

Friends may call as they desire today at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. There will be no family visitation.

The funeral for Miss Bridges will be 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis with the Reverend John Gaulke officiating. Burial will follow at the Kossuth Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Mediapolis First United Methodist Church and Mediapolis Public Library.
