Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church for Mrs. J. W. Miller. Reverend D. E. Kerr officiated.

Mrs. Miller, the former Flora M. Piper, was the eldest daughter of Henry and Rachel Piper, and was born near Peoria, Illinois, November 18, 1861. She married Mr. Miller November 12, 1891, the couple living at Mediapolis the past few months.

Nine children were born to them. One daughter, Mary, died in infancy Her husband and eight children survive. The children are: Mrs. Margaret Holmquist, Mrs. Mae Brockway, Mrs. Olive Bloomer and Mrs. Hazel Walker, of Wapello; Mrs. Estella Kline, of Chicago; Mrs. Ida Kelly, of Mediapolis; Henry Miller of near Burlington, and Johnnie Miller, of near Mediapolis.

There also are four brothers and two sisters: Henry Piper, of Mt. Union; Ed Piper, of Roscoe; George Piper and Charlie Piper and Miss Ida Piper, of Mediapolis, and Mrs. Frank Mason, of Winfield. There are 14 grandchildren.
