John Thomas "Tom" Ebbesmier, 70, of Great River Medical Center, Klein Center, died at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Klein Center.

Born December 21, 1932, in Burlington, he was the son of Lyman J. and Margaret Welch Ebbesmier.

Mr. Ebbesmier was an electrician with Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a graduate of Burlington High School and attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Houston and Tammy Russel, both of Burlington, and Dana Brown of Knoxville, Illinois; two granddaughters; three sisters, Susan Hoschek of Burlington, Sally Hart of Carlsbad, California, and Judy Halley of Scottsdale, Arizona; three brothers, William Ebbesmier of Ottawa, Ohio, Richard Ebbesmier of Omaha, Nebraska, and the Rev. John Ebbesmier of Glendale, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The funeral Mass for Mr. Ebbesmier will ba at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sts. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, with the Revs. John Ebbesmier and Gerald Stouvenel as concelebrants. Burial with military rites conducted by VFW Post 10102 and 9162, Marine Corps League and American Legion Post 52 will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
