Louis Carl Juengling, 94, of Great River Medical Center, Klein Center, formerly of 1507 N. Eighth St, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Klein Center.

Born January 28, 1909, in Burlington, he was the son of Carl Frederick and Susie Louise Wagner Juengling. On December 15, 1945, he married Dorothy M. Deuscher in Burlington. She died November 6, 1990.

Mr. Juengling was a production worker for U. S. Borax for 28 years, retiring in 1974.

He attended Burlington area schools. He was a member ofr Farm Bureau and Zion United Church of Christ, where he was the head usher since 1960, on the altar committee, past deacon and member of the Consistory. He belonged to the "Mixed Spices" of the church and was a financial secretary for the International Chemical Workers Union for 15 years while at U. S. Borax. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include one niece, Mary Jo Duescher of Burlington; and two cousins, Margaret E. Helt of Burlington and William Ruth of Mount Pleasant.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mr. Juengling will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Zion United Church of Christ.
