Viola Mae Patton, 69, of Burlington died at 7:59 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born May 11, 1933, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Ray and Vanessa Kimbraugh Penrod. On November 11, 1951, she married Dennis Patton in Burlington. He died July 8, 1998.

Mrs. Patton was a homemaker and telephone operator.

Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Hardy of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Bonnie Hartman and Marjorie Bell, both of Burlington; four sons, Steven Patton of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jack Patton, Robert Patton and Jerry Patton, all of Burlington; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Floyd Penrod and Richard Penrod, both of Burlington and James Penrod of Oquawka, Illinois; four sisters, Florence Bolander, Elsie Stafford and Barb Bolander, all of Burlington, and Georgianna Vantiger of Mount Union; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Patton will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Dan Buck officiating. Burial will be in Dolbee Cemetery.
