Caroline Ellen Ebert, 80, of Burlington, died at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born February 15, 1923, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Chester B. and Hilma M. Youngman Taylor. On June 3, 1948, she married William F. Ebert in Burlington.

Mrs. Ebert was a telephone operator and homemaker.

She was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ, the Ruth Circle and was past president of Women's Fellowship. She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed flower gardening.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Joan Deutsch of Columbus, Ohio; one granddaughter; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son.

Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Ebert will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Mel Miller officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been establishd for St. Luke United Church of Christ.
