Orville K. Wilson, 88, of Burlington, died at 10:08 P.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born March 16, 1914, in Garland, he was the son of Eldred L. and Estella M. Stewart Wilson. He married Elzie M. Wilson on June 28, 1958, in Burlington. She died April 22, 1982. He later married Theresia Endres on December 1, 1984, in Burlington.

Mr. Wilson did welding and layout work for Modern Welding, retiring after 21, years. He was a member of Sts. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, flowers and animals.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dorothy Distelhorst of Burlington and Donna Hanson of Davenport; four grandchildren; one brother, Charles Wilson of Muscatine; two sisters, Thelma Hillyard and Martha Kuntz, both of Mediapolis; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today in Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mr. Wilson will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald Stouvenel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for his church and the Des Moines County Humane Society.
