Maxine Mae Long, 62, of Burlington, died at 8:10 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born November 28, 1940, in Alton, Illinois, she was the daughter of Elmer and Mary Ann Mason Nichols. She married Robert B. Long on April 3, 1969, in Augusta.
Mrs. Long worked as a resource person at St. Mary's Catholic Church office for 18 years.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, knitting and doing arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Necole Long of Burlington; one granddaughter; her mother of Carolton, Illinois; one brother, Charles Atnip of Murraysville, Illiinois; and two sisters, Denise Jackman of Columbus, Indiana, and Geraldine Camp of Columbia, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church.
The funeral for Mrs. Long will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. John Hyland officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
