Mr. Gregory Dene Strandberg, 66, of West Burlington died Friday, December 13, 2013, at 5:35 p.m. as the result of an automobile accident..

Born November 6, 1947 in Burlington, he was the son of Marge Lucas Ehlers. On April 17, 1970, he married Suzan Wiemann in Burlington..

Mr. Strandberg was a 1966 graduate of Burlington High School and attended SCC and the University of Iowa. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Most of Greg's career he was head of bookkeeping at F &M Bank. He also worked for Ron Phillips at Ron's Certified Automotive and most recently in the accounting department at Great River Medical Center.

He served as an Elder at Community of Christ. He enjoyed helping with the Burlington Farmer's Market tenderloins. Greg was a member of SCC Black Hawk Booster Club, and enjoyed attending 34 Raceway and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Suzan Strandberg of West Burlington; one son, Jason (Allison) Strandberg of Burlington; one daughter, Marci Strandberg of Johnston; one grandson, Ian Strandberg; his twin brother, Gary Strandberg of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Sherry Cooper of Burlington and Beth Gilbert of Superior, WI and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

The funeral service for Mr. Gregory D. Strandberg will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 18th at Lunning Chapel with Evangelist Jerry Wiemann officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Memorials have been established for Community of Christ, Michael J. Fox Foundation, and SCC Black Hawk Booster Club.
