Gladys J. Parrott, 99, of Burlington died at 10:31 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab in Mediapolis.

Born June 13, 1910, in Pleasant Grove Township, she was the daughter of George and Emma Vandermark Green. On January 16, 1926, she married Robert C. Parrott in Burlington. He died October 22, 1957.

Mrs. Parrott was a homemaker. She worked as a seamstress for Schramm's in Burlington for more than 25 years. She was a past member of First United Methodist Church in Burlington. She enjoyed sewing and working in her yard and flower garden.

Survivors include one son, Nathan "Nate" Parrott of Burlington; one daughter, Sherry Parrott of Burlington; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie Housman of Sperry; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

The body has been cremated. Burial in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
