Celestine J. Green, 77, of 1501 North Eighth Street, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 1992, at the St. Francis Continuation Care Center.

Born March 28, 1915, at Dodgeville, she was the daughter of Theodore and Mary Ann Panther Vorwerk. She married Cecil E. Green December 2, 1934, at Dodgeville.

She was a homemaker and an office manager for the Cecil E. Green Insurance Agency. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, John T. Green of Omaha, Nebraska, Dan C. Green of Peoria, Illinois, and Bob Green and Jim Green, both of Burlington; two daughters, Gloria Ann Poisel of Omaha, Nebraska, and Caroline Sue Herzberger of Lombard, Illinois; two sisters, Mary Roederer of Burlington and Loyola Wilkerson of New London; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and an infant sister.

A wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. tonight followed by the family receiving friends until 8:30 p.m. at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Green will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Reverend Carl Leveling officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Burlington Area Catholic Schools.
