Mary Louise Biklen Riepe, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away December 26, 2000,in Ogden, Utah.
Mary Louise was born January 14, 1918, in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, the youngest child of William Charles and Clara Louise Hauber Biklen. On June 30, 1943, Mary married Herbert Frederick Riepe in Burlington.
Mary attended Burlington High School and Iowa State College, where she majored in Food and Nutrition. She was employed for several years in the 1940s at Schramm and Schmieg Co. where she met her sweetheart.
After her children were born, she enjoyed being a full-time mother and homemaker.
Mary was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints(LDS Church) in 1952, one of the first members of the church in Burlington, Iowa. It was Mary's joy to serve as Relief Society president, counselor and secretary; Primary teacher and secretary, Northern States Mission primary secretary; Sunday School teacher; pianist and chorister; and one of her favorite positions, visiting
teacher. Her greatest desire was fulfilled in 1977 when she and her beloved companion and family were sealed for time and all eternity in the LDS Cardston and Provo Temples.
We remember mother for her great example of faith and love, nurturing and comforting. We never heard criticism or unkind remarks from her. She treated people, animals, and all of the Lord's creations with respect, love, and caring. She helped us see the good in everyone and everything. She dedicated her life in service to others. She ultimately inspired us to have faith and to do good works. We love,
honor, and desire to emulate our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert, baby daughter, Katherine, parents, sisters, Helen Hunter, Mildred Smith, Bertha Orr, and brothers, Walter, William, and John Biklen.
