Alice I. Brown

Alice I. Brown, 80, of the Burlington Care Center, died 1:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 1988, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Born Jan. 23, 1908, in rural Fairfield, she was the daughter of William and Mary Calhoun Berrie. She married Aubrey L. Brown April 1930 in Burlington. He died in 1957.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Flint Hills Chuch of the Nazarene.

Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Jo Wallace, Des Moines, Mrs. Irene Farlow, Independence, Mo., Vy Brown, Des Moines, Mrs. Catherine Brown, Mrs. Barbara VanHook and Mrs. Bonnie Rice, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Linda Simmons, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Allen Brown, Cedar Rapids, and Dick Brown, Florida; one brother, Clarence Berrie, California; four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Roller, LuRay, Mo., Mrs. Marge Craig, Mrs. Elsie Arguello Hall and Dorothy Doyle, all of Davenport; 27 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel.

The service for Mrs. Brown will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Fred Borger officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A Memorial has been established for the Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene.
