WM J. SNYDER,
LIFE RESIDENT OF HERE,
DIES.
W.J. Snyder, aged 74, a resident of Burlington for more than 30 years and a lifelong resident of Des Moines county, died at 10 o'clock last night at the family home 2001 South Fifteen street. Mr. Snyder had been in poor health for the past two years.
He was born in Pleasant Grove township, February 15, 1850. He lived on the same farm on which he was born for 41 years, then coming to Burlington, where he purchased the home where he has since lived. He was married to Miss Nellie Burns, August 31, 1876. He was a member of Grace M.E. Church.
Mr. Snyder was engaged in various business enterprises here, but is perhaps better known through his connection with the ice business, in which he was concerned for a number of years.
Mr. Snyder is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Opal Kupka; brother, attorney, Theodore B. Snyder of Ft. Madison and one granddaughter, Mrs. Ralph Hoar, Oskaloosa. The funeral will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. E.W. Stodghill preaching.
