Florian Koerner, 104, of Bloomington Care Center, Bloomington, Minn., formerly of Burlington, died at 215 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at the care center.
Born Oct. 16, 1892, in Rohle, Austria, he was the son of Florian and Josephine Poisel Koerner. On June 29, 1916, he married Oryx E. Schnupper in Danville. She died Nov. 24, 1995.
Mr. Koerner was a graduate of Burlington High School and Elliott Business College. He was a bookkeeper at Leyda Burrus and Metz. He also worked at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and Burrus Manufacturing of Burlington.
He was a past exalted ruler of Elks Lodge No. 84 of Burlington and a member of Fisher's Band.
Survivors include one son, Jerome Koerner of Bloomington, Minn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral for Mr. Koerner will be 2 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Burlington Public Library.
