Marian (Marianne) Powell, 79, of 2830 Winegard Drive, Burlington, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Oct. 1, 1917, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John and Ora Ellis Parmeter. On Oct. 13, 1938, she married Arthur Powell Jr. in Burlington.
Mrs. Powell worked at Midwest Biscuit Co., Western Club, Brass Rail and Steve's Place. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Powell and Randy Powell, both of Burlington; one sister, Kathryn Dean of Burlington; five stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; and five brothers, Joseph Parmeter of Newport Beach, Calif., George Parmeter of Sacramento, Calif., Charles Parmeter of Bloomington, Ill., Edward Parmeter of Milan, Ill., and John Parmeter of Keokuk.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Sheagren Funeral Home.
The funeral for Mrs. Powell will be 1030 a.m. Wednesday at Sheagren Funeral Home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
