OVER THE RIVER

Death Last Night of Mrs. L. J. Tell.

At midnight last night the soul of Mrs. L. J. Tell received that peace from heaven's healing balm which those made by earthly hands could not give to her pain racked body. After enduring painful sufferings for eighteen years. sufferings which have been particularly acute for the past year, she is now at rest and peace and feels no more pain.

Everything possible was done long ago to check the progress of disease but nothing availed aught. In 1879 she was taken to Colorado in search of health but without success, and again in 1886 New York physicians were consulted with no better result. Since that time her death had been awaited with resignation by herself and anxious suspense and tender ministrations by her family and friends.

Mrs. Tell was Miss Sarah Field, born in Darlington, Ontario, in 1840. In 1868 she was married and with her husband removed to the United States, coming to Burlington two years later, where she resided until her death, with the exception of the time spent elsewhere in the search for health.

Besides the husband, who has been devoted in his care and attention to the invalid wife, she leaves three children to mourn for the loved and loving mother. These are Mrs. Adolph Korb and Maggie and Frank Tell, all living in the city. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of many true friends. The funeral notice will be made later.
