Daniel Roger "Dan" Wiele, 52, of Burlington, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois.

Born September 19, 1948, in Burlington, he was the son of Roger Carl and Shirley Anne Leaverton Wiele.

Mr. Wiele was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran. He worked as an equipment tester at General Electric in West Burlington.

He was a member of First United Church of Christ. He was a gun collector and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two brothers, David Wiele of Greenwood, Missouri, and Dane Wiele of Lomax, Illinois; two sisters, Debra Greene and Diane Wiele, both of Burlington; three stepsons, David Cloke of Burlington and Mark and Todd Cloke, both of Mount Pleasant; one niece; one nephew; and several step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Mr. Wiele will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Prugh's Chapel, with the Reverend Milo Van Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
