G.H. ARCHER, 79, DIED TODAY
Native and Lifelong Resident of Near Mediapolis Since FebruayGeorge Henry Archer, 79, died at his home, three miles west ot Medipolis in Yellow Spring township at 6 o'clock this morning after an extended Illness.
Mr. Archer was born In Des Moines county. November 6, 1853, the son of Edward Gillam and Nancy Talbott Archer, and lived all his life In Yellow Spring township except for five yours when he lived on a farm at Roscoe, flve miles from the home place. He married Mary Ellen Jones, who died fifty years ago, and he was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church.
Surviving are a daughter, Julia B. Archer of Mediapolis: two brothers, John Archer of Sperry and Sam Archer of Fort Scott. Kan.: four sisters, Mrs. E. M. Williams of Oakland, California; Mrs. W. F. McDonnld of Boelus, Nebraska; Mrs. W. J. Lane, of Mediapolis, and Mrs. E. W. Robertson of Morning Sun, la.; and a granddaughter, Mary Ellen Mull. His daughter and granddaughter having cared for him constantly since he became ill in February.
Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. In charge of Rev. W. G. Oglebec, with burial in Linwood (ed.-Linn Grove) cemetery. Friends are invited.
